D BAR QUARTER HORSES AND SADDLE SHOP
The things you wish for are most often right under your nose. A peaceful place to live and work, to enjoy the work that you do ( so it doesn't seem like work), and the love of your companion in life. If we are still and quiet long enough we will realize God has already given them to us. Thank you, Lord, You know better than I.
BUILDING A FENCE
For many years you live with a fence that has seen better days. you sometimes have to brace it up or re staple a wire. Often the wire is broken from the horses stretching their neck over to get at the untouched grass on the outside. When the wire is broken there is not enough to tie back so you have to splice in a new piece, tying it to each of the broken ends of the original wire. That added piece stands out like a new penny.
One day you have had enough of rotting posts which are leaning and loose at the ground and loose wire which hangs from post to post. One day you take the tractor and push the old fence into a pile of wire and wood.
Then you begin again. You bring new posts, and you get new wire. And you build on the integrity of a solid foundation. You sink the new large posts and corner posts into the ground deep enough that they will not be pulled out by the stretching of the new wire. You tamp the dirt into the hole all around the new post to pack it and give it extra strength, expecting it to stand tall and straight for many years. Out with the old and in with the new. What a great feeling. Becoming a child of God, believing in Jesus Christ is like that too.
